Playboy Gets An Official App, NSFW?
The first official Playboy app has hit the App Store and is there for your viewing pleasure. How great is that?! Well, turns out it's not that great and actually the app is rather limited.
The app might wrap you in with its pitch line :
Unfortunately the app will most certainly not satisfy most.Get exclusive content and a glimpse of the new issue of Playboy wherever and whenever you want!
For those of you who read Playboy for the articles, you'll be disappointed to find that there are only excerpts of interviews and articles available. But, I guess they figured that most people wouldn't be all that interested in the text.
Or did they? Well if you read the official description it specifically says:
This app does not contain any fully nude content
So yea, no fold out nudie pictures in this app, since you know, Apple does not permit nudity in Apps sold in the App Store. And as for the exclusive content, they actually mean some wallpaper for your device and a couple video clips...
So let me recap, no good content, no nudity and one more thing, the Playboy app is also subscription based, so you'll have to drop $1.99 to access new content each month.
Bottomline for $2.99 you're really not getting much for your money. With that being said, if you love Playboy than you'll probably want their only official app... even though it's nothing to get excited about.
