Review: Line Racer

Overview
Zoom down the slopes as quickly as you can in this fast-paced and addictive game. Race on custom made tracks or randomly created ones as you climb the online leader boards. The game uses touch-based controls as well as the accelerometer in order to maximize your speed.
Features
The game features local and online racing leader boards so you can keep track of your progress. You can play either pre-made tracks, custom made tracks from the online community, or you can have a randomly created track made for you as well.
There is a "Rivals" system that allows you to compete against other racers at your skill level. You control the speed of the racer by touching the forward and backward buttons on the screen and you control your landings by the accelerometer.
Breakdown
The Good:
I really liked that the game has a track creator included in it. You can get a randomly created one, or grab a custom track from other players. This really adds a lot of replay value to the game because you'll never play the same tracks twice if you don't want to.
I also think the "Rival" feature here is very nice. This way you don't have to worry about racing someone way out of your league. It's a small thing, but it really made each race fair because every racer you are pitted against is at the same level as you. It makes for a much more exciting challenge.
The Bad:
I really didn't enjoy the controls in this one. They work, but not as well as I would have liked them to. The accelerometer is too touchy and you will find yourself "over-tilting" or "under-titling" when you are airborne. I wasn't a fan of how flimsy your racer is either. The slightest hit and you will crash when landing. It's just a lot harder than it looks and the controls don't do much in the way of helping either.
The Verdict
Overall I think this is a game you should check out. It's a lot of fun and very fast paced. The devs have put a lot of time into the online tracks and the "Rival" feature. It really adds a lot of replay value to the app, which means if you like the game you'll definitely be getting your money's worth.
