Gameloft's iPhone port of the classic Playstation game Driver: You Are the Wheelman hit the App Store in early December for the price of $6.99, but it has just received the inevitable App Store game price drop, pushing it down to a more reasonable $4.99. driver_screen1Driver for the iPhone and iPod touch puts you in the shoes of an undercover cop named Tanner, who is posing as a getaway driver in order to expose a national crime ring. Just like in the original Playstation version of the game, you won’t actually be leaving your vehicle, but you will be taking part in a variety of driving missions, such as hunting down and ramming other vehicles in order to stop them, delivering stolen vehicles, and transporting important figures in the crime ring. Driver features 40 campaign missions spanning across four giant cities, which includes Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City. Each city has working traffic lights, wandering pedestrians, and moving traffic with cops who are always on patrol.  It also contains seven mini-games, a free drive mode, local high scores, and three different control schemes. If you were a fan of the original, you just have to pick up Driver for the iPhone, especially for only $4.99.
