Gameloft Has Sold 10 Million iPhone Games Since The App Store's Launch

January 7, 2010

Gameloft apparently had one heck of a 2009. According to Edge Online, the company has announced that they sold over 10 million iPhone and iPod touch games since the App Store's launch, which averages out to be over 18,200 games sold per day. In comparison, Gameloft announced that they had sold 6 million games by early September 2009, an average of around 14,000 games sold per day.  See what a little holiday sales spike can do for a company?
“We have had a remarkable year on the App Store,” said Michel Guillemot, chairman and CEO, Gameloft. “Our success is defined not only by great production values, but a vested interest in bringing to market games that are commercially friendly and appeal to a mass consumer base. Taking into account that the App Store is only 18 months old, ten million paid downloads is an achievement we are quite proud of.”
Gameloft stated that N.O.V.A. and James Cameron's Avatar were the driving forces behind their holiday sales spike.  Other solid holiday performers included Driver, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X, Asphalt 5, The Settlers, Skater Nation, and Shrek Kart. Some of 2009's overall best performers were Dungeon Hunter, Modern Combat: Sandstorm, Let's Golf, Uno, Gangstar West Coast Hustle, Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles, and Real Soccer 2010. How much have you contributed to Gameloft's stellar 2009?
