A few weeks ago, two previously unannounced ngmoco games were discovered via an
employee's Plus+ account. One of those two games has now officially been unveiled, and it almost sounds as if it could turn out to be an iPhone version of
Black & White, a god game created by Lionhead Studios for Windows and Mac released in 2001.
In the official
announcement post, ngmoco reveals that
GodFinger is being developed by
Wonderland Software, a group of developers who previously worked on
Black & White and the
Fable series of games. As ngmoco puts it, "They know their god games."
In
GodFinger, you will need followers in order to build up your powers. You can gain followers by creating buildings and performing wonders, and by doing so you will be able to learn new abilities and perform even greater wonders. From the short description, it even sounds like you will be able to choose to be a benevolent or evil god, with the ability to change the landscape and even zap your followers just for the fun of it.
According to ngmoco, the game is "rapidly approaching its App Store debut," so stay tuned.
