Popular iPhone And iPod Touch Games On Sale This Weekend
January 9, 2010
It's NFL wild card weekend, which means beer, food, and lots of television viewing for many of you. But for those of you who have no interest in those kinds of activities, there are other means of entertaining yourself, specifically iPhone and iPod touch gaming. Listed below are just a handful of games that have been marked down in order to give you a cheap form of entertainment this weekend.
Chop Chop Ninja ($1.99 -> $.99): This one is a bit of a sleeper hit, but that doesn't make it any less worthy of your attention. Chop Chop Ninja is a 2D beat 'em up platformer that will have you climbing, jumping, flying, bouncing, and interacting with objects by using only a single finger. It features 10 levels with different environments and unique objects to find, special attacks and power-ups, colorful graphics, and the ability to replay levels in order to beat your time and high score.
Chop Chop Ninja will only be on sale through Sunday, January 10th.
Plushed ($1.99 -> $.99): A unique platformer developed by Blacksmith Games, the same people behind the beloved Appvent Calendar '09 promotion. The game features hand drawn graphics, touch- and accelerometer-based controls, nine levels, three boss battles, and three mini-games. You can also check out our in-depth review to learn more.
Plushed will be on sale until the next update, whenever that is.
Jewel Quest Mysteries: Curse Of The Emerald Tear ($2.99 -> $.99): It's Jewel Quest, what else needs to be said? The game features 20 different match-3 puzzles, 18 different backgrounds, RPG-style upgrades, and local multiplayer via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Parcel Panic ($2.99 -> $1.99): A sort of Crazy Taxi spinoff, Parcel Panic will have you delivering parcels all around Tapiti island while racing against the clock. It features tilt-based controls, snazzy 3D graphics that are even more detailed on the iPhone 3GS, real physics, and four different delivery trucks to choose from.
These are just a handful of some of the more popular games marked down this weekend. Feel free to leave a comment below pointing out any other games that are on sale and are worthy of a mention.
