Overview
When NimbleBit makes a a new game we take notice. They have decided to make a sequel to their word game Textropolis, with Fishtropolis. The game is set up the same way where you're given nine letters, and you need to spell as many words as you can with those letters. The main object is to make words from a fish name this time rather than a city name.
Features
15 fish are included giving you 15 different word puzzles which will text the limits of your vocabulary. Each word you spell is defined right then. Hints are included as well as the ability to shake to scramble the letters to look at them in new ways with new combinations. You need to get 20% of the total possible words per fish to get one star, and unlock the next fish. In total there are 2500 words to discover.
The Good
The same lovely gameplay of Textropolis returns, just with more words, and a fish theme. There are no time limits, just simple look at the letters, and make as many words as you can. A relaxing distraction, that is unique for the word game category and is great for anytime and anywhere.

It truly is amazing as you blast out all the words you can think of at first glance, and that barely ranks as a half star out of a total five. Then you progress thinking of all the ways the letters combine to form new words. Then finally you to the stage where you type in letters, and find words you've never heard of.
Then the definitions flow across screen, (wait learning in a game, no). The words you have found flow across the top of the screen, and then as you type in letters all the words with those letters appear. Also an added challenge is that each letter can only be used once.
The game is well polished as you would expect from NimbleBit. Everything flows smoothly from the definitions floating across screen to fish tranquilly swimming by. It's like doing a world puzzle by a deluxe aquarium. Just simple tapping sounds, and score raking up with nothing else to distract you.

With 15 fish each having at least 100 words to make, you will spend tons and tons of time with this game. One thing the game has which isn't quantifiable is to keep you connected to it after you exit. You'll be thinking of the letters, arranging them to form words just in any part of your day from walking down the street to lying in bed.
The Bad
Not much to dislike, it excels at what it sets out to do. The only concern is that it's not much of a difference from Textropolis, but that definitely isn't a bad thing. More of goodness is definitely good, and that's what Nimblebit has provided.
The Verdict
Fishtropolis is a deluxe word game that has real unique gameplay, and a true stand out in the genre. Sit back relax, and do some thinking for a change as you uncover words in various fish names with no time limits. Definitions are also included, and there are over 15 fishes containing 2500 words giving you tons of time with this game.
A really great word game that is a should buy for $1.99, if you have Textropolis or not.
