Navigon's MobileNavigator To Get Social Connectivity, 3D Map Views, And Personalized Routes

February 9, 2010

Navigon has announced that their turn-by-turn iPhone navigation app, MobileNavigator, will be getting beefed up with three fancy new features in v1.5: Facebook and Twitter connectivity, 3D in-map views, and personalized routes. To sweeten the pot, the app will be on sale for only $69.99 until February 15th. In MobileNavigator v1.5, you will be able to post your current position, destination, and estimated time of arrival to Facebook or Twitter without causing any interruption in the navigation process. The update will also add what the company is calling MyRoutes. A feature that will analyze your driving habits, patterns, location, and time/day in order to provide you with up to three different routes in-map with an estimated time of arrival, distance, and driving time for each route. The last feature, Panorama View 3D, will be available as a $9.99 in-app purchase and will give you true 3D in-map views of the terrain ahead of you with data obtained from NASA. This will give you a better idea of what lies ahead, showing digital landscape elevations, shadows, and geographic images. The feature is integrated in-map, meaning it is independent from the phone's data connection. MobileNavigator North America is available in the App Store for the sale price of $69.99.  The in-app purchase Traffic Live feature is also on sale for $19.99 until February 15th.  The v1.5 update will be available for free, excluding the Panorama View 3D in-app purchase of course, to all existing MobileNavigator users.
