The iPhone's lack of camera flash makes it a poor performer in low light conditions but developers have been hard at work to make it better.
A+ Camera Flash for example remedies the problem using flash effects, brightening each individual pixel of a photograph to make it appear brighter. Chime and Beeper's BulbShooter uses shutter time management to increase exposure and allow more light to enter the lens. Unfortunately, these solutions don't always work out as expected.
NightVision Pro, by Cogitap, has a new way of dealing with this and allows you to capture low light images by using three color modes: grayscale, night mode, and heat map. Here is a demo:
It comes with different image resolutions, 512 X 384 or 1024 X 768, and a slow shutter option for a blurred light effect or increased exposure. No video support, though. It's $0.99 so if you're looking to become that ghost hunter you've always wanted to be, go check it out.
