Patent Watch: Control Your iPhone By Swiping The Camera Lens
February 25, 2010
Apple is putting a lot of thought into new ways of interacting with iDevices these days. The latest idea, published today by the US Patent & Trademark Office, presents an interesting new concept which would take advantage of your iPhone's camera.
This new interaction method will allow you to control some functions of your iPhone by swiping the camera lens. This could be used to control your voicemail while holding your iPhone against your ear, surf the web without your thumb, or to control your music.
I don't know how realistic this is but it's a very neat idea.
