SI Swimsuit 2010 iPhone App Is Available For Free, Sort Of
February 10, 2010
Sports Illustrated took a different approach with this year's SI Swimsuit iPhone app. Instead of charging an upfront cost like they did last year, leaving curious consumers with the burden of having to make a purchasing decision without getting a taste of the goods, they decided to offer the app for free, albeit in limited form.
SI Swimsuit 2010, in its free form, features a single photo from each of SI's top models along with their respective bios and the ability to save each photo to your camera roll to use as you please. It also features just a handful of model videos.
This may be enough to satisfy some of you, but Sports Illustrated is hoping it is only enough to tease you and force you into upgrading to the premium version for a one-time in-app purchase of $1.99, which unlocks every last bit of content available in the app, including:
- 46 sizzling videos of SI Swimsuit models, with nearly 90 minutes of total footage. All video is available for download over 3G and Edge (in addition to Wi-Fi).
- Ten exclusive videos not available anywhere on the Internet of the most sought-after SI Swimsuit models, including 2010 cover girl Brooklyn Decker and Bar Refaeli.
- Photos/videos of Winter Olympians such as Lindsey Vonn and pro tennis tour sensation Ana Ivanovic.
- Body Painting featuring the wives and girlfriends of some of the world's biggest soccer stars.
- The spectacular women of Dancing With The Stars.
- Nearly 150 stunning photos -- all pre-loaded into the app and available without Wi-Fi connection -- with dazzling images from all over the world from the Maldives, India, Portugal and Chile.
- Meet five rookies to the SI Swimsuit model collection of talent.
