Whether you're in your hometown or on a trip in a distant city deep in the former soviet union, you'll eventually need to take a cab. There is, however, an array of issues that will arise from this situation. Do you have the dispatch phone number? Enough cash? Do you know how to get there without getting scammed? Are you too wasted to figure all this out?
Well, this is where Taxometer comes in handy. Wherever you are (200 cities in 20 countries covered so far), it will estimate your cab fare to a destination of your choice based on your local position (you're free to set this up anyway you want actually).
It will furthermore provide you with some local cab dispatch numbers and show you the route. While it won't make you sound like a local, at least you won't get scammed.
Lastly, they just added a drunk mode. All you need to do is set up the app with your home address, then every time you shake your iPhone, it will automatically figure out how to get you home, how much it will cost you and get you a big green button that will connect you to the cab central.
