Apple Patents A Social iPhone App : iGroups
March 19, 2010
It seems like Apple has been giving a lot of thought to possible implementations of location-awareness on the iPhone. Following a first patent describing location sharing capabilities, a new filling published today is showing that Apple would be working on a location-based social networking app.
Called iGroups, it would allow you to create groups of contacts around a specific event. Once linked, the different members of the group would be allowed to safely share their location as well as different kinds of data among each other.
Sounds like déjà vu to me, but still a very convenient feature.
