Broadcast Live Video With Your Tweets Using TwitCasting
Twitter clients are a dime a dozen in the App Store but a new one from developer SideFeed, Inc. will allow you to not only provide status updates; you'll be able to broadcast it live too.
The newly released TwitCasting Live introduces a fun new way to share your tweets using live feeds. After you sign in to your Twitter account, you'll be greeted with a split screen with one showing video from your iPhone camera and the bottom with your Twitter timeline. Simply hit the button to Go Live and you're ready to go on air.
Once your video begins recording, you can update your Twitter status with a URL that is automatically generated for your followers to access. Followers on a computer or on an iPhone/iPod Touch can then access the feed and post @replies and comments to your Twitter account. The streaming works well over both WiFi and 3G. After completing your broadcast, the app gives you the option to save the video and have it archived on the TwitCasting website or you can simply delete it.
The video isn't going to be anything remotely close to what you're used to on TV. You'll be able to broadcast up to 10 frames per second and it will help to have a steady hand when recording to improve the quality.
All in all, it is a pretty cool app and handy when 140 characters isn't enough to share your breakthrough idea or sharing with the world what you ate for breakfast this morning. Best of all, the app will cost you nothing to try.
