Color Magic Deluxe Is Available For Free Today

March 22, 2010

Have you always wanted to try an iPhone photography app like Color Splash but couldn't justify paying for it?  Well, Rockifone has the perfect solution for you.  Today and today only the company's Color Splash-like photo app, Color Magic Deluxe, is available for free. Color Magic Deluxe helps you add a little zing to any photo by allowing you to highlight specific areas with color while leaving the rest black and white. The app allows you to take a new photo or import an existing one and then it turns it completely black and white.  You can add color to certain areas by first selecting 1 of 11 brush types, choosing its pixel size, transparency, and then allowing you to just go at it by dragging your finger across the screen.  You can zoom in on areas using the usual pinch and pull mechanic, and an alternate view mode highlights your painted area in red allowing you to add pixel-perfect detail. The app also features unlimited undos, the ability to save multiple sessions, and the ability to share your image via a variety of methods including Facebook. The one glaring difference between Color Magic Deluxe and Color Splash, however, is that Color Magic Deluxe adds a watermark to your images, which is fairly illogical considering it is normally a paid app.  This may just be an oversight on my part, but I can't find a way to remove the watermark.  You could always just manually take a screenshot of your image to avoid this issue, but then you lose your convenient sharing options. Even with this obvious issue, Color Magic Deluxe (normally $.99) is a feature-rich photo editing app that is a lot of fun to play around with.
