First Look At Quizarium, From The Creators Of Charadium

March 11, 2010

On5, the developers of the insanely fun and competitive Charadium, have given us a first look at their new online-focused trivia game titled Quizarium that's set to hit the App Store tomorrow. The moment you first launch Quizarium you know Charadium's developers were behind it.  It features the same no-fuss interface that allows you to jump right into the action as long as you have signed up for a free Plus+ account.  You are able to change the main design theme in case the default colors don't suit your tastes, and you can pick your own player/chat color to stimulate your brain. The game features the ability to get right into the action and compete against others by joining one of the 10 pre-made rooms each with their own specific category, or you can create and customize your own room and invite your friends to play via push notifications.  You can even play offline if you don't feel like interacting with other human beings. Each question is clearly displayed in the middle of your screen, and you and your foes have one minute to guess the correct answer.  The game doesn't feature answers to choose from, so you will have to type them in manually just like Charadium.  You do have unlimited guesses, however, and the game features auto correction for those of you with less than stellar iPhone typing skills.  If no one is able to guess the correct answer within the first 15 seconds, everyone is given the first letter to the word and as time goes by another letter and so on.  This goes on until either someone guesses the correct answer or the time runs out. Quizarium contains a few other social features such as the ability to report players for cheating, like/dislike questions, and share questions and answers on Twitter or Facebook.  During the first three weeks of availability, On5 is also offering players the chance to win iTunes gift cards and even an iPad.  During the first two weeks the top Quizarium players will be awarded with iTunes gift cards, and during the third week the single best Quizarium player will win an iPad.  So get your thinking caps ready.
“We are very happy with the warm reception received by our first game Charadium which was later acquired by ngmoco:) and soon is to be released for iPad. We like online competitive puzzle games, that’s why we are releasing Quizarium. We are happy with the result and hope you’ll like it too. Our team learned a lot of new facts during its development and testing process, so trust us, Quizarium is not only a fun multiplayer game but a great educational app as well.” said Anthony Almanza, managing director of On5 Games.
Quizarium will be available in the App Store tomorrow (3/12/10) for free. Update: Quizarium is now available in the App Store and you can get it for free!
