Hoop It Up - Follow March Madness From Your iPhone, Now With 3G Streaming
Office productivity in March is about to take another hit. Fans of the NCAA Basketball Tournament are in for a treat this year as the 2010 version of the iPhone March Madness app is now available and features live streaming of all games over WiFi and 3G.
NCAA March Madness On Demand is the ultimate portal for the annual basketball tournament. Unlike last year's version, CBS is now giving users the ability to watch every single game from the first round all the way to the Final Four, on 3G. This added function does come at an added cost as the app is now priced at $9.99, double the cost of last year's app.
In addition to the live video coverage, you get all of the scores, news, and stats from every game with up to minute updates on all of the brackets as they take place. You can even set up push notifications to alert you for close games, overtime or upsets in the making. If you can't watch the game, the app delivers the Westwood One radio broadcast so you don't miss a minute of the action.
If the price tag is bit steep for you, CBS also offers a free lite version that does everything the premium version does minus the video and radio broadcasts. But for the die hard sports fan, the ability to follow all of the action while at work or on the go is going to be priceless.
So lace up those sneakers and get settled in for the month of March. There's a lot of basketball to be had. Coverage for the app begins with Selection Sunday on March 14 and the first tournament games begin on March 16.
