With the big iPad ibookstore related news, one book in particular is making news today. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has been made into a game by Freeverse, and it's coming to the iPhone/iPod Touch. Now if you don't know Pride and Prejudice and Zombies it's similar to the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice, but with Zombie mayhem inserted into the entire storyline.
To set the stage for the game, you need to set the stage of the book. Pride and Prejudice begins:
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.Pride and Prejudice and Zombies begins similarly, but the noticeable difference reappears throughout the book:
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. The books continue to divert in this way, but the humor is in having read the original, and noticing the differences. The book was the best of last year without a doubt, and one book you should add to your reading list whether it's a hard copy or ibook. Also regarding ibookstore the author Seth Grahame-Smith has a new release titled Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter that is 5th on the New York Time's Best Seller List, and will be priced at $9.99 in the ibookstore. On top of that the book publisher Quirk Classics has just released the prequel, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls! details here. The book is great, but now more about the game. It's a mass zombie killing game that is more the beat em up style using Elizabeth's trusty dagger or even fists with her martial arts skill. The screenshots included show the game in action as well as the nice looking 2.5D graphics. Quotes from the book will be included as well, and there will be Plus+ connectivity. The outstanding book coming to life on the iPhone looks great, and stay tuned to AppAdvice for any details we have regarding the game, and of course a full review once it enters the App Store. It's time to get ready for PPZ coming April 2010. [gallery link="file" columns="4"]
