More Cupcakes! is a new app categorized as a game that allows you to bake cupcakes right on your idevice. You chose your cupcake liner, add the batter, put it in the oven, and then shake them out to decorate, and you’re ready to eat. The app comes with tons of customization options with all of your cupcake making needs right at your fingertips.Features
Customization options abound beginning with ten cupcake liners including blue, pink, green, rainbow, and leopard. There are five batters including yellow, chocolate, and carrot cake, and you can choose your baking time. Ten types of frosting are included and 16 toppings to decorate your cupcake in many different ways. You can also change the look of how you serve your cupcake with ten kinds of plates, and six tablecloths. To finally eat your masterpiece, just tap for a bite, and keep going. Two sharing options are available, e-mail, or save a photo.
The Good
You get to bake virtual cupcakes on your iPhone. It’s nice to be able to do the entire production process though it’s all just taps, shakes, and swipes. All of the cupcake images look good, just like perfect magazine food. All of the customizations help to truly personalize your cupcake. Also you can make four at a time to do all of your customizing at once. So you can have blue, rainbow, and pink liners with yellow, strawberry, and carrot batter, and then add mint cookies 'n' crème, and white frosting. Throw on sprinkles, red hots, jelly bellys, cookie bits, and even shamrocks, and you have some good looking cupcakes without the mess, (but also without the best part, taste).
The Bad
The biggest problem is the simplicity of this game/app. There seems to be no point or purpose, and an entire waste of time. Unlike other time wasters this one doesn’t last very long. Once you’ve made a group of four cupcakes you’ll never go into this app again. When you’re decorating it’s not very engaging as any potential uniqueness is taken away. You uncover the frosting rather than drawing the frosting however you would like. You can place decorations anywhere, but there’s no undo.
Then eating is just embarrassing. You tap on it until it disappears, which is foolish in the best light. The sharing options are simplistic as well with only e-mail or save the image. It would help a little to share a cupcake on twitter or facebook.
The entire process is just boring as you tap on liners, batter, and baking time, then draw some frosting, and place some sprinkles, etc. This app is just worthless in every way.
