SimCity Deluxe Details And Screenshots Emerge

March 18, 2010

If city building and managing is your thing, you should be happy to hear that EA has a new enhanced version of SimCity in the works titled SimCity Deluxe. SimCity Deluxe is basically the same SimCity you know and love, but with enhanced graphics, control, and UI.  The game will feature improved detail levels, so when you zoom in on your city everything should look crisp and clear.  EA states that the visual style will more closely resemble that of SimCity 4.  The frame rate has also been greatly improved in the Deluxe version.  UI improvements include larger buttons, a more logical flow, and more items will be accessible without digging through as many menus. SimCity Deluxe will feature modifiable terrain, where you will be able to paint in water, land, and trees with the tip of your finger, providing more control over your city's landscape.  It will also include four seasons each with their own unique disasters. To add to the re-playability, SimCity Deluxe will include seven scenarios and seven starter cities. SimCity Deluxe will be available this Summer. This announcement is a bit of a mixed bag.  Current SimCity owners can't be too happy about the fact that EA is jumping to a new version without fixing some of the bugs that have consistently plagued the original.  But those who haven't invested in the original SimCity yet have to be somewhat excited about this enhanced version.  Building and blowing up cities with unique disasters just never gets old.
