Thumpies Bouncing On To The iPad - Plus Screenshots

Thumpies is a relatively new game that we reviewed when it was released. It's a rhythm based music game where you tap on drums as the cute and creepy creatures bounce on them. Well this action is being upscaled and customized for the bigger iPad interface. Now you have more drums to beat, but it's nowhere near as cramped. The only problem we had with the iPhone version on review was that it can get quite complex and frustrating with so much happening in tight quarters. The more screen real estate will definitely help this, and tapping all areas of your iPad sounds great. Another note is that the thumpies bounce off screen, and are indicated by arrows on the iPhone version, but you'll see them the entire time now to get the timing down. Music games have great potential on this device as long as they're imaginative, and not the basic Tap Tap formula of notes crossing a meter at the bottom of the screen. The iPad can be a music maker, and you can already make some great beats in iPhone Thumpies, so the iPad version looks to build on that. Big Blue Bubble has provided screenshots of the game from the iPad simulator as well as a video of the iPad version in action. No release date is given, but expect it extremely close to the iPad launch since you see how far along it already is. Thumpies looks like a game that is a great initial pick-up for your iPad.
