New Wi-Fi iPad Pre-Orders Won't Ship Until April 12th
March 27, 2010
iPad fever must have struck more people than even Apple had originally anticipated, as it appears that they have sold through their initial supply of Wi-Fi-only iPads and have been forced to push the expected shipping date for all new pre-orders to April 12th. Orders for the Wi-Fi + 3G models still have an expected shipping date of late April, however. Hopefully those of you who lack patience were quick about it and pre-ordered yours weeks ago, otherwise you may just want to wait for the Wi-Fi + 3G model.
But that's not the only bad news for those of you who decided to wait to pre-order. Apple has also removed the option to reserve your iPad for in-store pickup.
Those of you who were able to choose the in-store pickup option before it was removed better make sure to get to your retail location sometime between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on launch day, because if you don't, your unclaimed iPad will be returned to the general stock and sold to another, more timely customer.
