Adobe Halts Its Delusional iPhone Ambitions
Software developer with desperate iPhone ambitions Adobe just finally got the message and decided to no longer invest in iPhone development.
The news, published by Mike Chambers, Adobe's Principal Product manager for the Flash Platform, comes as a reaction to Apple's recent decision to no longer accept applications developed using Adobe's flash platform on the App Store; not much of a surprise.
Here are his words:
We will still be shipping the ability to target the iPhone and iPad in Flash CS5. However, we are not currently planning any additional investments in that feature.
Instead, Adobe will be focusing on the Android from now on, in which they have great expectations.
Well, for one, this will prevent a lot of future drama; secondly, I'm sure that if they manage over time to develop something good enough for Apple to support, they will definitely get a shot.
But for now, farewell Adobe.
