CoPilot Live HD Navigating Its Way To The iPad 3G

ALK Technologies has announced that CoPilot Live HD, a turn-by-turn GPS navigation solution designed specifically for the iPad 3G, has been submitted to Apple for approval and should be available in the App Store sometime in early May.

CoPilot Live HD features a new split driving view that combines a 3D or 2D map display with simple turn instructions, providing you with all of the information you need to get to your destination quickly and safely. As with CoPilot Live for iPhone, the HD edition auto-switches between portrait and landscape modes, features pinch-zoom functionality, gives you access to iPod music controls from within the app, includes voice guidance, and contains all of the street map data on the device itself so cellular dead spots won't leave you stranded. CoPilot Live HD can also be more than a turn-by-turn app if you want it to be.  The app features a powerful offline trip planner and route previews to help you find the best route before you even hit the road.  Multiple stops can be entered during a single trip and CoPilot Live HD will calculate the most efficient route to them.  ALK's navigation app also includes advanced planning features like a fuel cost estimator and the ability to create customized routing profiles that best suit your personal preferences. CoPilot Live HD North America will be the first to the market, with additional regions to launch as the iPad 3G becomes available worldwide in the coming months.  CoPilot Live HD should be available in early May for the same price as CoPilot Live for iPhone, $29.99.
