Dark Void has been resurrected by it's developers Capcom, and after 20 years it's back. To commemorate its release Capcom have recreated every inch of the original, now re-titled Dark Void Zero, in all it's 8-bit glory especially for iPhone.
In Dark Void Zero you play as Rusty a warrior test-pilot and along with your friend Nikola Tesla’s you must blast your way through the galaxy to save the human race. The game is like a timewarp back to the 80's and it looks and feels just like the original. The controls are instantly familiar and with 5 weapons to choose from old school gamers will be right at home. A new feature in the iPhone version is the option to connect with friends via Facebook and link to your OpenFeint account to share highscores and compete in the online leaderboards. Dark Void Zero comes with 3 levels and that may disappoint some users, considering the $2.99 price tag, but the game is action packed and with the promise of an exclusive iPhone "ending" it should be enough to keep most players entertained for some time.
There has been an influx of 80's games in the app store recently and each one will find it's place in the hearts of the original fans but only time will tell if Dark Void Zero has enough in it's locker to win any new fans out there. Let us know what you think in the comments.
