Depict HD Gets Updated With OpenFeint

April 21, 2010

When Makeshift Games first announced Depict HD for iPad, they revealed that the game would be OpenFeint-less until the new SDK was released and they could implement the code.  That time has finally arrived, as Depict HD has been updated to include the iPad-optimized version of OpenFeint, making it whole again and even better than the iPhone version. Depict HD now allows you to log into OpenFeint, so you can receive all of the achievements that you so obviously deserve.  You are now also able to invite and play with your OpenFeint friends in both Classic and Lightning Round modes, and as always, you can play solo until your friends arrive in the room. For those of you who haven't tried Depict yet, it offers frantic bursts of Pictionary-like gameplay where you are required to draw and guess what others are drawing.  Unlike Charadium, another popular iPhone/iPad guessing game, you are given multiple choice answers instead of having to type them in by hand.  Depending on the type of gamer you are, this can be viewed as good or bad. The iPhone version of Depict is available for free with in-app purchases to add the ability to create your own avatar and to add the Lightning Round mode.  Depict HD for iPad, however, includes all of these features but is priced at $1.99.  The kicker is that those of you who purchase Depict HD will never have to pay for additional content, so that $1.99 goes a long way, especially now that it is finally complete with OpenFeint integration. Makeshift Games doesn't offer a lite version of Depict HD, so if you are worried about forking over $1.99 without giving it a test run, just give the free iPhone version a try first.
