Origin8 Releases Their First iPad Game: Space Station: Frontier HD
April 23, 2010
Origin8, the team behind iPhone hits Sentinel and Sentinel 2, have released their very first iPad-only game, Space Station: Frontier HD. The game is a port of the well-reviewed iPhone version by the same name.
Space Station: Frontier HD places you at the helm of a deep space mining operation, where you must scour the far reaches of the solar system for resources while also defending your station from the evil that lurks in the corners of the universe.
The game features both tower defense and real-time strategy elements, requiring you to collect supplies to build hubs while also building up your towers to defend your station. You can choose to play through the 15 campaign levels, or compete in one of the other three unlockable modes. The game also include OpenFeint integration so you can earn achievements and compare scores with friends.
This iPad-optimized version also features detailed graphics with an even greater zoom, redesigned UI, ability to play in landscape or portrait mode, new backdrops, and a mini-map to aid in navigation.
Space Station: Frontier HD is now available in the App Store for $4.99. Origin8 has also announced that both versions of the game will be receiving updates that will add a head-to-head multiplayer mode, so no matter which device you own, you have something to look forward to.
