Rejected iPad Dashboard App Goes Open Source & It Rocks

As we've told you before, Apple decided not to allow Dashboard apps on its iPad App Store in the end, apparently for "contradicting the iPad's user experience".

While it's unfortunate, one of these Dashboard app developers (possibly the most interesting one) has chosen not to let his work go to waste and published the source code of his app on Github (link). This way, those of you with developer accounts should be able to compile and install his app on your iPad despite Apple's decision. Furthermore, it will also be made available via Cydia as soon as the iPad jailbreak goes public. All of this completely for free.

Why is this one so interesting? Well, it's actually a port of Mac OS X's standard dashboard and it lets you directly install some of the available widgets on Apple's website, neat right? Check it out (youtube link):
