The Kindle app is ready as a free universal app to run on the iPad day 1. The iPhone/iPod Touch Kindle app received an update providing iPad support. If you have a Kindle, and have a bunch of Kindle books you will be able to read them on your iPad.
Kindle on the iPad looks beautiful, and much better than the actual Kindle device could ever produce. The app features colored photos in books, and the page flick animation we all know and love. The Kindle app loads with a page of all your books which is similar to the ibook layout, but without the shelfs. There is also a basic reading mode, aka kindle mode.
The app gives you access to the full kindle store so now the ibook store and kindle store can compete in price on the same device. Apple and Amazon can duke it out on price, but in the end iPad owners win getting the choice between the two for every book they buy. The app syncs so you can pick-up on any device there is a kindle app on our the kindle itself.
So what do you think? iBook, Kindle, or both depending on which interface you like better and what store has the better price for a book you're about to buy.
