2010 World Soccer Cup Apps Get A Feature
May 31, 2010
With the 2010 Fifa World Soccer Cup in South Africa just around the corner (June 11 - July 11), Apple has posted a special World Cup application page in iTunes to accompany all of your soccer and South African needs. The page consists of three sections of apps: Getting There, Games, and News/Trivia. But which apps are truly the most outstanding and useful? Here are the apps we feel will help you on your journey to the World Cup.
South Africa Safety 2010 World Cup (Getting There)
If you are planning on travelling to South Africa for the World Cup, this is the perfect travelling companion for you. With emergency information, safety tips, and much, much more, this app assures that your travel will be safe. Plus, you can't beat the app's price of $0.99!
TomTom Southern Africa (Getting There)
Now that you have your safety covered, let's talk about navigation. TomTom is an outstanding application for travelling, whether you are in South Africa or the United States, Greece or Australia, TomTom has an app for that. By providing turn-by-turn directions and other helpful information, such as Intelligence Lane Navigation and built-in Google search, TomTom ensures you will have an easy journey, although the price might make your pocket hurt at a hefty tag of $59.99 for the Southern Africa maps alone.
FIFA 10 by EA SPORTS (Games)
Although this game could very much help with the "Getting There" portion of your trip, Fifa 10 will help your trip either way. Fifa 10 is a great soccer game developed by EA Sports that allows users to play as real-life soccer players and teams and experience Fifa firsthand and even create their own soccer stars. This game is very graphically intense and fully captures the Fifa soccer visions. The price is fairly reasonable at $6.99, but is ensured to keep your fingers and attention span busy for hours.
ESPN 2010 FIFA World Cup (News/Trivia)
While you are in South Africa, this app will keep you updated on all of the World Cup news, and even gives you interesting facts about the World Cup. This application is very well designed and will help you out by providing schedules, scores and more. The app is free, so I recommend giving it a try.
