BeejiveIM For iPad Now Available At An Introductory Price
May 20, 2010
The highly anticipated iPad-optimized version of BeejiveIM has landed in the App Store at a special introductory price. It's definitely a little late to the party, as the App Store currently features a handful of quality iPad instant messaging clients, but it's probably the most popular of the group which may have actually magnified the anxiety levels for some.
BeejiveIM for iPad takes after its iPhone counterpart feature-wise. It allows you to stay in touch with your friends on a variety of different networks including AIM, MSN, Windows Live, Yahoo!, Facebook, GoogleTalk, MySpace, ICQ, and Jabber. It also supports group chat, allows you to send and receive pictures and voice notes, sends push notifications when the app is closed, supports hyperlinks and emoticons, and much more.
The obvious difference between the iPhone and iPad versions is the UI. BeejiveIM for iPad was crafted to use the iPad's additional screen real estate to its fullest, which means more information can be available to you at once.
Unlike some of its competitors, most notably IM+, BeejiveIM isn't a universal app, meaning that users who shelled out anywhere between $5.99 - $15.99 for the iPhone version won't be getting a free pass to the iPad version.
We can only assume that to soften the blow from this decision, Beejive has launched BeejiveIM for iPad at a special $5.99 introductory price. In comparison, the iPhone version is currently available for $9.99.
We want to hear from all of you BeejiveIM for iPhone users out there who are considering picking up the new iPad version. Is it a no-brainer? Or does the fact that you have to pay for it again for another device make the decision that much more difficult?
