Clamcase: For When You Really Need To Convert Your iPad To A Netbook

I'm not sure this is what Steve Jobs had in mind when he introduced the world to the magical tablet. After all, a netbook was what he was hoping to replace for your everday casual computing needs. As over a million of us already know, the iPad isn't your ordinary computing device. But for those wanting to combine the best of ultra portable computing and the magic of iPad, there's Clamcase.
Clamcase is a new accessory that transforms your iPad into a hybrid touchscreen netbook along with giving your iPad protection and a way to prop up the device. With a slot for your iPad to slip in on top and a Bluetooth keyboard built in on the bottom, Clamcase combines several key iPad accessories all into one convenient package.
Since news of the item broke yesterday online, the Clamcase site has been hit hard ("We are getting slammed," the site indicates). From the looks of it, people are still trying to shake the habit of years of keyboard and monitor use. As a case and keyboard combination, the makers seem to have come across a very practical idea. No official word on availability but early word is a Fall drop date and if the cached pages from Google searches are to be believed, the Clamcase will go for a very respectable cost of $69.
