Compression HD For iPad Hits The App Store For Free

Little White Bear Studios‘ constantly compressing match-three game, Compression, is now available for iPad as Compression HD.  It's nearly identical to the iPhone version in gameplay and features, but sports higher resolution graphics and is available for free. Compression HD uses the tried and true match-three mechanic, requiring you to rotate, slide, and drop colored blocks via touch controls in order to match three or more like-colored blocks in a vertical or horizontal row. When accomplished, and as expected, those pieces will be removed from the game board. The goal of the game is to remove all of the hollow blocks that are initially available when each level begins from the game board before you run out of space, and that’s where the game's twist comes in. Compression HD’s game board is constantly compressing, which makes removing those hollow blocks all the more important. Every third piece dropped will move a randomly chosen wall inward. You are able to identify which wall will be moving via three white dots. When the dots are gone, the wall moves.  Walls will push anything in there way together, so planning ahead is to your advantage. The game features unlimited levels thanks to randomly generated game boards, unique music and sound effects via Atomicon, and OpenFeint integration. The only thing this iPad version is missing is the ability to obtain the additional Blocked game mode via in-app purchase, but we will just assume it will eventually be available since optimizing these things takes time.  Compression HD is available for free, however, so it's not like you are getting ripped off by not having the ability to play the additional mode.  The game is very polished and offers unique gameplay, so if you enjoy match-three games and own an iPad, download it immediately.
