Gameloft's Zombie Infection Spreads Into The App Store

May 11, 2010

Zombie Infection, Gameloft's take on the survival shooter for the iPhone and iPod touch, has just landed in the App Store. The game is obviously inspired by the Resident Evil series, specifically Resident Evil 5, so if you are a fan of that game or the series in general, it shouldn't take you long to warm up to this one. Zombie Infection will have traveling to South America in order to uncover the plot behind another zombie outbreak. You will be able to switch between two characters, an ex-soldier named Damien Sharpe and a reported named Alex Rayne, as you fight your way through 12 zombie-filled campaign levels. The game features a third-person over the shoulder perspective and tons of powerful weapons, so no zombie should be left standing. Once you are able to get a zombie to the ground with multiple shots, you can choose to finish them off by pummeling them with your hands and feet.  Getting up close and personal with zombies is always more fun anyway. The game also features Gameloft Live connectivity in order to show off the 20 unlockable trophies to your friends. Zombie Infection is now available for $6.99. We had some hands-on time with Zombie Infection at GDC this year, so check out that original article if you would like to learn more.
