Specs: What Is The Next iPhone Made Of

May 12, 2010

Thanks to today's more thorough leak of the next iPhone, it seems like we're finally able to give you more details about what the future might be made of.

Indeed, the experts over at iFixit gave a look at the serial numbers found on the device and were able to confirm that, as suspected, the next iPhone boasts pretty much the same specs as the iPad. The processor, an Apple A4 System-On-A-Chip, most probably identical to the one found in the iPad would boast 1 GHZ of processing power. As for the RAM, it's apparently the same Samsung-made 256MB found in both the iPad and the iPhone 3GS.

The screen resolution on the other hand would have been increased. We're not certain of it, but according to some comparisons made by MacRumors, the characters do look smoother:

Is this any good? Well, the iPad boasts the same specs and is pretty fast already so yes. Some extra RAM would have been welcome of course, but I guess the additional costs just don't justify it for now.
