Mercedes-Benz Equipping Over 40 Dealerships with iPads

In order to sell cars more efficiently, Mercedes-Benz (MB) is now giving dealerships the power of the Apple in their hands with brand-new iPads. Loaded with a special MB webapp, sales people can now view the latest discounts, create credit applications, view rebates, and more, without ever leaving the customer.
"When someone came in we would go out with a pad and a pencil and scribble down all the problems, like a scratch here or a dent there and then go back to the desk and enter everything in the computer," stated Bernie Moreno, the owner of a MB dealership in Ohio, with an interview with Wall Street Journal. Now I can do it all right in front of the customer and it just gives us more of a sense of credibility.
MB Financial has already issued iPads to 40 dealerships, but hopes to increase that number to 350 after seeing the success of this program. How cool is that? [via AppleInsider]
