Office² And Office² HD Updated With Dropbox Support And Much More
May 27, 2010
Byte² offers productivity apps for the iPhone and now iPad that are meant to give you an affordable way to create and edit all kinds of different documents. The apps have been mostly well-received, but the lack of a few features and some minor bugs have been holding them back, especially as of late. But thankfully that's not the case any longer, as Byte² has addressed many of their user's concerns via the most recent updates to both their iPhone and iPad apps.
Office² v3.3 for iPhone and iPod touch is now able to access Dropbox, which has been by far the most requested feature. It also now supports all unconverted file types in Google Docs. The update addresses a whole bunch of bugs found in the previous release as well.
Office² HD v3.3 for iPad, just like the iPhone version, allows access to Dropbox, and also supports all unconverted files types in Google Docs. But unlike the iPhone version, that's only the beginning of the list since this one is fairly new to the game.
Office² HD v3.3 includes better support for hardware keyboards, files can finally be transferred to the app via iTunes, attachments can now be opened from the mail app, and the files pane can now be hidden when in landscape mode.
This update also addresses the many bugs that were found in the previous version of Office² HD.
As always, both apps offer the ability to create, edit, and view Word and Excel files and access MobileMe, Google Docs, and now Dropbox. They feature auto-correction, pane freezing, the ability to insert tables, and a whole bunch of other handy features.
Office² for iPhone is available for $5.99, and Office² HD for iPad is available for $7.99. Both apps are priced just below most of their competitors, giving you the most bang for your buck as long as the apps meet or exceed your feature needs.
