Puzzle Quest 2 Coming To iPhone And iPad Later This Year
May 20, 2010
Today is a glorious day for iPhone and iPad gamers who are Puzzle Quest fans. GamePro has confirmed via a Namco representative that Puzzle Quest 2 will be coming to the iPhone and iPad sometime during the "end of fall/early winter" time frame.
Puzzle Quest 2 is a follow-up to the original hit puzzle/RPG game that was first released in 2007 for Nintendo DS and PSP, but was eventually ported to nearly every other platform known to man, including iPhone OS. Puzzle Quest 2, however, was originally only announced for Nintendo DS and Xbox 360 because that's the biggest workload D3 Publishing could handle; but Namco Networks has stepped in and revealed that they will help bring the upcoming title to Windows, iPhone, and iPad.
Puzzle Quest 2 will feature basically the same gameplay as the original but with new spells, gems, mini-games, heroes, and villains. The game will also sport a new perspective for exploring the map and different game modes.
Nintendo DS gamers will be the first to get a crack at it on June 22nd, but we're not complaining. As long as Puzzle Quest 2 makes it to our favorite platform for a reasonable price and with all of its features fully intact, we're already sold.
You can pick up the original Puzzle Quest in the App Store for $4.99. It only includes the first two chapters for that price, however. The final chapter is available as a $1.99 in-app purchase.
