Strike Knight Slides Into The App Store For Free

May 17, 2010

We told you it was coming and now it is here.  Backflip Studios has released Strike Knight, which is their take on the popular arcade games found in many dive bars during the late 80’s and early 90’s, only this one is portable and available in the App Store. Strike Knight is a puck bowling game that's more about timing your shot than actual bowling.  The game is the normal 10 frame affair with the main objective being bowling a strike, but instead of just getting rewarded for the number of pins you knock down, you are scored based on when you hit the pins as well. Numbers will light up above the lane indicating the score you will receive based on whether you hit a strike or a spare.  You must time your shot so that your puck hits the pins the moment the highest numbers light up.  If you fail to hit a strike or a spare, you will only receive points for the number of pins you knocked down during that frame. The game features a very bar-like atmosphere, simple flick controls, four-player pass and play multiplayer, and Plus+ integration. Strike Knight is now available in the App Store for free.  You can choose to remove the ads from the game for $.99 as an in-app purchase, or just play on with them for free if they don't bother you.  This is just the first of many new games coming from Backflip Studios, so stay tuned.
