Activision Releases Call Of Duty: World At War: Zombies II
June 3, 2010
Activision has just released Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies II, a sort of pseudo-sequel to the original hit game that's actually more of a standalone expansion pack than anything else. Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies II features the same gameplay as the original, but expands on the experience with a new map, weapon, items, achievements, and playable characters.
The new map, Shi No Numa, is set in a swamp that's infested with zombies. The new weapon, Wunderwaffe DG-2, is able to fry hordes of zombies in a single blast. The new playable characters consist of Tank Dempsey (US), Takeo Masaki (Japan), Nikolai Belinski (USSR), and the infamous Dr. Edward Richtofen (Germany). And finally, the new items include Flogger, some sort of massive zombie executor, and Zipline, used for quick getaways.
Just like in the original version, other maps, which in this case include Verrückt and Nacht Der Untonen, can be downloaded for $4.99 each as in-app purchases. The game also still features four-player online co-op, achievements, customizable controls, and leaderboards.
Those of you who already own the original won't be forced to pay the full $9.99 asking price to get the new map and other new items. After downloading the update, you will simply be able to upgrade to Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies II via a $4.99 in-app purchase. Sure, it's still a little expensive, but it's the same price as a single map and you get all of the other new items.
Alright, that's enough reading. It's time to get your zombie slaying on.
