Capcom had a pretty solid E3 booth this year, showing off all kinds of highly anticipated sequels to hit console games, but they also had a few iPhone games on-hand, including a remake of the classic 1942 and Ghosts 'N Goblins: Gold Knights II. Capcom also showed off the two new playable characters for Street Fighter IV, which will be available as a free update.
1942: First Strike - A vertical shoot 'em up that was first released in arcades in 1984. 1942: First Strike will allow you to take to the skies on your iPhone, giving you all the tools necessary to take down swarms of enemy fighters, bombers, battleships and more.
The game will features three playable aircraft -- Lightening, Mosquito, and Shinden -- that are controlled via the usual touch and drag mechanic. Your aircraft is set to auto-fire, so you will simply be required to pilot and drop bombs. It will also feature eight levels, four boss battles, and a total of three control schemes.
1942: First Strike should be available in the App Store on July 1st for $1.99.
Ghosts ‘N Goblins: Gold Knights II - The sequel to the hit iPhone platformer that will have you playing as the legendary Arthur or the powerful Perceval as you battle your way through a total of ten environments.
The game will feature the usual platforming/beat 'em up elements, as well as six different weapons for Arthur and three for Perceval.
Ghosts ‘N Goblins: Gold Knights II is still in development, but it should be hitting the App Store sometime in August.
Street Fighter IV - Although nothing will be new gameplay-wise, Capcom will be issuing an update before the end of the month that will allow you to play as Cammy or Zangief. The update will be available free of charge.
