From E3: Chillingo Keeps The Hits Coming

June 20, 2010

Chillingo was locked and loaded for E3 to show tons of upcoming iPhone games. We were also able to talk to the developer of Zombie Wonderland which was just released for the iPhone, and has launched up the charts. They had a full playable iPad version that really looked great on the bigger device, and provided a whole new experience to play. Pro Zombie Soccer was also just released, and be sure to check our review if you missed it. We gave you a few screenshots and trailer a couple months back regarding Knight's Rush, and after E3 there's a lot more we know about the game. The game is an extremely beefed up version of A Quest Of Knight's Onrush that is bursting at the seems with action. The game is a side scroller loaded with an intricate story, and multiple enemy types guaranteeing never a dull moment. Zombie Escape is another upcoming game that combines the line drawing of Flight Control and Harbor Master with zombie survival. You need to draw the humans to the safety of the escape helicopters while avoiding the zombies running around on screen. The game also gives you limited weapons to kill some of the zombie to make the path to survival a little easier. The game controls as smooth as could be, and is the most action I've experienced in the path drawing genre. There are three different environments with all of them overloaded with zombies. You will need to dispose of zombies because simply drawing paths isn't going to get you there. There are multiple types of weapons giving you some tower defense elements plus there is a 28 day campaign. The next game we saw was Wackylands Boss which is one of the most unique ideas I've seen in a long time. The game begins as a virtual monster game where you customize your monster in all types of ways, and then it's off to the platformer world. Rather than playing as the hero you play as the monster who's goal is to destroy the magical kingdom, and kidnap the princesses. It's an outstanding role reversal coupled with all kinds of customization. Chillingo also showed a couple iPad games with the first being Master of Alchemy. The game shares a basic connection to Enigmo as you add pieces to control the flow of various elements. The game has much more complex contraptions, objectives, and materials to truly challenge any physics puzzle aficionado. The last game is one you hopefully know in Inkvaders which is coming to the iPad as Inkvaders HD. We reviewed the game way back when, and now the iPhone game with beautiful graphics looks even more stunning on the iPad. The game is one of the best shooters on the iPhone, and looks to be even better on the iPad with a much more immersive experience. The best part about all of the games Chillingo is publishing is that they're all expected in June. Check out all of the screenshots below. Which one are you most excited for?
