Navigon Demos Multitasking Support For MobileNavigator

June 18, 2010

iOS 4 will be launching in the next few days and with it will come multitasking.  As we noted yesterday, some developers have already gotten updates with the long-awaited capability approved and into the App Store, while others are still working on getting it implemented.  One of those still-working developers is Navigon, whose MobileNavigator will soon be getting multitasking support -- just like TomTom -- and they have decided to demo how the feature works. In the video embedded below, Navigon's head of iNavigation from Germany, Bernd Hahn, demonstrates how MobileNavigator won't stop giving you your all-important directions when you receive a phone call or when you need to access other apps.

Navigon hasn't announced a specific release date for MobileNavigator v1.6 thanks to the many other features that will be making their way into the update in addition to multitasking, but the team hopes to have the update submitted within the next month.  As always, we will let you know as soon as we have more information.
