O2 UK Releases iPhone 4 Upgrade Options with Reduced Early Upgrade Fees

June 9, 2010

O2 in the UK are now offering all current customers a chance to end their contract early for a limited-time only reduced fee. As long as customers sign up to a new 18 or 24 month contract, they can end their current contract at a the reduced cost of £20 for every remaining month of their contract. To give you an example, I have 12 months left on my contract, which means I would have to pay £220 to end it now. This is great news for anyone who isn't currently eligible for an upgrade and would like to get the iPhone 4 without splashing out the full, currently unknown, handset price. O2 also have two other 'options', if you can call them that, for upgrading. The first is to buy the device on it's own, which, as I said a moment ago, doesn't currently have a price. The second option O2 are suggesting is to wait until you are eligible for an upgrade. If you're currently in the middle of an O2 contract and want to get your hands on the iPhone 4 on release day, head over to O2's website to find out exactly how much it's going to cost you to end your contract early. What are you going to do? Pay to end your contract, buy the phone for the full, unsubsidised price or just wait it out? Let us know in the comments.
