Ochocinco To Become First Celebrity And Athlete With A Personalized iPad App
June 23, 2010
After recently and quite successfully bringing Floyd Mayweather and Jared Allen into the iPhone app world, Rock Software is hoping to make the same kind of splash on the iPad side of things by collaborating with one of their original and most flamboyant clients, Chad Ochocinco. The talented Bengals wide receiver is looking to become the very first celebrity and athlete with a personalized iPad app, which should go along quite well with his many other unique accomplishments.
The official Ochocinco iPad app will take you deep into the world of one of the NFL's biggest personalities. The app isn't just a blown up version of the Chad Ochocinco iPhone app, however. It will feature an entirely re-designed UI that makes use of the iPad's much larger screen, along with quite a few other interesting additions.
The app will initially be sponsored by VH-1 and will have a bracket for Ochocinco's upcoming dating show, Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch, along with profiles of every girl in the show. It will also allow you to play music while browsing through the many other features, which include a Twitter feed full of Ochocinco related items, sound bites, a section that includes videos of Ochocinco and random hot and funny YouTube videos, a news ticker, a light version of Rock Software's RunPee app, and last but not least, an "Ask Ocho" section where fans can email questions and Chad will answer within one day and give a shout out to the fan within the app.
Like all of Rock Software's other apps, the official Ochocinco iPad app will be available free of charge. The app should be hitting the App Store on July 1st, but it will be missing the Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch bracket and profiles since it won't premier until July 11th. The following day, however, all of the content will be available.
So what do you think Ochocinco fans? Are you ready for him to invade your iPads?
