Rhythm Racer 2 Speeds Into The App Store

June 25, 2010

Rhythm Racer 2, the AvatarLabs-developed musical racing game that we had a chance to preview at E3, has finally sped into the App Store. Rhythm Racer 2 features more music, more dynamic gameplay, and flashier graphics than the original title while still keeping the $0 price tag.  In the game you are able to control your speeding ship via tilt controls with the goal of collecting orbs and jumping through the hoops on the track.  By hitting consecutive orbs and hoops your multiplier will increase, helping you shoot right up those OpenFeint leaderboards.  Unlike other games in this genre, the music won't distort or degrade when you miss an item, it only gets quieter. Rhythm Racer 2 currently ships with four free songs: Fire Away by Kill the Alarm, Hydraulic by King Atom, I Quit by Ordinary Peoples, and Asteroid by Parry Grip.  The game also features downloadable premium music packs for $.99 that contain two songs each.  Those packs include: Smokin’ by Boston, Free Ride by Edgar Winterand, Weapons of Mass Distortion by The Crystal Method, and The Take by Filter.  But that's only the beginning, AvatarLabs intends to add even more free and paid songs to the game via future updates. As a warning to first-time Rhythm Racers, the default tilt sensitivity is relatively high, so we recommend fiddling with the settings until you find the sweet spot. So what are you waiting for?  Go download Rhythm Racer 2 for free and give it a spin!
