Torch Campfire For iPad Now Available - Plus A Chance To Win A Copy
June 11, 2010

Composed messages can have special sounds added to them in order to drive a point home. The usual Campfire "ping" sound is played when someone else sends a message, so you know when the app needs your attention. You can view what room you are currently in and who is in the room via buttons placed at the top of the screen. And finally, past conversations can be sorted and viewed by date.
This is only the first version of Torch Campfire which has resulted in a few rough edges, specifically a bit of lag when typing during heated debates, but I suppose that can be expected. The app is also lacking what some would consider necessary features, including filters, the ability to search and add images, and message badging. Cunningham has indicated that these features will eventually be making their way into Torch Campfire via free updates based on user priority. Either way, it's a good start for the only native Campfire app available for the iPad.
Torch Campfire for iPad is now available for $4.99.
