Make Yourself A White iPhone 4 Today

June 28, 2010

If you can’t wait for the elusive white iPhone 4, Engadget has a suggestion: create one yourself. Using spare parts found online, Engadget was able to turn a black iPhone 4 into a white one. Removing two small screws near of the bottom of the iPhone and switching out the parts was all it took.

The end result isn’t perfect: they couldn’t get a white home button and the front parts they did receive didn't include an earpiece grill, but it did come close.

Seems like a lot of work when you can wait a few more days, stand in line for ten hours and buy the real thing. Your coworkers, girlfriends and fanboys all might find your DYI solution very cool though. Besides, you can sell it on eBay and make a mint. [Photo: Engadget]
