WWDC 2010: iPhone 4 At Same Prices
June 7, 2010
The next generation iPhone will be available at the same prices as its predecessor, the iPhone 3GS. Available on June 24th in select countries, the new iPhone 4 will be available in two models, a 16 GB ($199) and 32 GB ($299) model and feature the new iOS4. An 8 GB iPhone 3GS will remain but will now include the new iOS4 for $99. International prices have not yet been announced.
For the first time, customers can chose between a black or white model for each. To encourage current iPhone customers to upgrade, Apple and AT&T have decided to allow any existing customer with a contract that expires at anytime in 2010 to upgrade now with another two-year contract commitment on the iPhone 4. Pre-orders for the new iPhone 4 start on June 15th for the U.S, France, Germany, UK and Japan with an additional 18 countries coming in July, with others in August. In September, 40 additional countries will be added to the mix. By then, a total of 88 countries will have available to them the new iPhone 4.0. Those countries that will be added in July include: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Pre-orders will be available online, at Apple Stores and of course, at AT&T. [Photo: Apple.com]
