American Airlines' New App Allows You To Check In With Your iPhone
July 26, 2010
American Airlines has just released their first customer-focused iPhone and iPod touch app, which is intended to make those frequent or even not-so-frequent trips through the airport easier and paper-free.
The app, simply titled American Airlines, provides you with tons of different tools to make traveling even easier. It allows you to log into your personal account using your "AAdvantage" number (or set up and account if you don't have one yet), which in turn pushes flight details right to the app's home screen so you won't have to fuss with your iPhone too much while making it through the checkpoints. Speaking of checkpoints, the app also features a mobile boarding pass, so you can skip printing your ticket and simply show the airport staff your iPhone to breeze right through the process.
Other day-of-flight features include:
- Parking reminder
- Standby lists
- Terminal maps
- GPS to find nearest airports served by American Airlines
- Elite status progress tracking
- Sudoku (yes, the game)
